Sir Walter Scott described Perthshire as “The fairest portion of the northern kingdom.”  With its breath-taking variety and serene glens to its tumbling waterfalls and rushing rivers, it’s difficult to argue with him.

Perth is the most recent addition to Scotland’s seven cities and boasts many fine restaurants and cafes, great shopping and outstanding concert venues.

In contrast, Highland Perthshire has glorious peaks to be scaled, such as Schiehallion and Ben Lawers and also has some of Scotland’s most iconic species from majestic red deer stags to ospreys.

You can also discover magnificent arboreal specimens in the region’s woodlands, forests and gardens including the oldest living tree in Europe and the widest conifer in Britain.
